Limited to 20 Participants — Small-group format to preserve interactive learning

Why This Workshop Matters

Move beyond simply completing a form. Learn how to develop meaningful, measurable, and evidence-ready faculty Professional Development Plans that align with ACOTE Standard A.6.2 and support the strategic priorities of your OT or OTA program.

ACOTE Standard A.6.2 requires program directors and faculty members who teach two or more distinct courses to maintain current written Professional Development Plans. These plans must connect to the program's strategic plan, include measurable outcomes and dated action steps, address the required areas of faculty development, document annual updates, and contain both faculty and supervisor signatures.

During this interactive Zoom workshop, Dr. John R. Patro Jr. will guide OT and OTA faculty through a practical process for creating professional development plans that support faculty growth and are organized for accreditation review.

Participants will work directly with a proprietary Patro Consulting Group Professional Development Plan template and leave with at least one completed faculty-development goal and a structured plan for addressing the remaining required areas.

Because this is an applied workshop rather than a traditional webinar, registration is limited to 20 participants. The small-group format allows time for discussion, individual drafting, peer feedback, and facilitated consultation.

What Participants Will Learn

By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Explain the essential requirements of ACOTE Standard A.6.2.
  • Determine which faculty members require a current written plan.
  • Differentiate the scholarship expectations for OT and OTA faculty.
  • Connect individual faculty goals to program strategic priorities and assigned responsibilities.
  • Write measurable goals, outcomes, and action steps with specific completion dates.
  • Identify appropriate evidence of professional development activities, implementation, and impact.
  • Establish an annual process for reviewing, revising, signing, and retaining faculty plans.
  • Evaluate a Professional Development Plan using an accreditation-focused quality checklist.
